Brand new RV park being developed on a llama farm (just opened this Labor Day), in-between the historic towns of Greeneville and Jonesborough in northeastern TN. Owners are great and willing to share their vision of combining their farm and campground into a themed experience. A few baby llamas were born the week we were there, and the owners took us up to the barn to take a look at the new arrivals. At the time of our visit, they had not yet built any restroom or laundry facilities. They have some long term back-in sites, and pull-thrus for short term guests. The pull-thrus are long; we easily fit our unhitched 36' 5th wheel, pickup, and extra car. Roads and sites are gravel. All utilities are brand new. WIFI but no cable yet. There are some hiking trails on-site. We plan to return, as we are very interested in how this themed development all comes together. Pay attention to their directions advice listed on the website. Lots of historic sites nearby to visit.
We stayed at the Lazy Llama CG while attending the Storytelling festival. We travel all over the country and this was truly a unique experience. The llamas were grazing in pastures in front of our RV and we were able to interact with them thanks to the fantastic owners, Jerry and Carolyn. They go out of their way to make sure every guest takes away something special from their visit. The only reason this is not five stars is that some of the amenities are works in progress. Sites are huge and FHU with good wifi and satellite access. We planned on one week due to the great rate but extended our stay to relax and enjoy the quiet. The baby llamas are special!!
Had a wonderful stay it was just too short I will come back for a longer stay hopefully in the spring
Lazy Llama is brand new and just had their soft launch back on Labor Day weekend. I spent the month of September at Lazy Llama. Every single lot has septic, which is rare at campgrounds! The monthly prices are very reasonable. Jerry and Carolyn are very helpful when anything is needed and check up on guests regularly. You can see the llamas grazing form your campsite. Lazy Llama is off the beaten path but very easy to find—this is NOT like most KOAs you find right off an interstate and have listen to the trucks roaring by all night. It's very quiet and peaceful. The office is still under construction but will be for checkin, classes, and a store. You can see the llamas grazing in the field from the campground which is very cool! I would definitely recommend this park.
